“I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in an environment of contrast and complexity. Politics and the economy made daily life a battle, but the people and the landscape contrasted it with such creativity, determination and beauty. Art was everywhere. Not just the typical consideration of art like sculpture out of bottle tops, or large canvases, and stone carvings but also in the ingenuity to create new water systems, or the skills needed to navigate our broken roads. The migration patterns the animals carving literal paths into the ground. The way the Msasa trees flush the highlands in reds, oranges, and golds.

The complexity and hardships sparked such creativity that life was emersed in Art.”
